When I started Audio Flashcards, I wanted to make learning easier and a bit more fun for everyone. Every update, server bill and support email takes time and money, so the app needs to pay its way to keep improving. This is how it does that, and what it means for you.

Free, with ads

Audio Flashcards is free to download and use on iPhone, iPad and Android. Every feature is included: recording, text-to-speech voices, spaced repetition, voice commands, iCloud sync, backups and Shared Cards. There is nothing to unlock.

Now and then the app shows an ad before you start a review or add cards, never in the middle of a review. When you need a stretch without interruptions, watch one short video ad for an hour without ads.

Ad-free access

If you would rather not see ads at all, you can buy ad-free access in two ways:

  • a subscription, or
  • a one-time lifetime purchase.

Both remove ads and nothing else changes. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency. Open Settings, then Manage Purchases to buy, Restore Purchases on a new device, or Manage Subscription to change or cancel. Purchases follow your App Store or Google Play account across your devices.

On the Mac

The Mac app has no ads, so there is nothing to buy.

Why not charge for the app?

A price on the download would keep out the students, teachers and language learners who get the most from it. Ads keep the app free for everyone, and ad-free access lets people who use it every day support it directly.
